Yes, I suppose you have to buy it because your transmission type seems to be very rare in Germany. That makes it really expensive to replace it.

But you have the opportunity to suggest a price to the seller: "einen Preis vorschlagen". Perhaps you can beat him down to three- or fourhundred Euros.

Or you buy a whole car at mobile.de, then take out only the transmission and sale the rest of the car again.

My car at 130.000 km... I m not sure still this gearbox is suitable for my fiesta?...

I don't get it - so you like your car, good for you. And you want to keep it, ok.
How much are you willing to spend? Cause if you where to buy a used transmission in Germany you will have to take care of transport to Turkey as well. So no matter what you do it will not come cheap. I would estimate the transport alone at around 200€ - so let's do a quick calculation:
Used CTX round about 500€
Transport: 200 €
Installation (I have no idea what turkish mechanics charge, so I'm guessing it a 30% less than in Germay): 450 €

That adds up to: 1150€, invested in a twelve year old car with more than 130000 km on the clock. And that's for a used transmission with 93000 clocked kilometers.
I don't really see point - what's wrong with you're current transmission anyway (electronical/mechanical failure)? Did you try to find a workshop specialised on transmissions? Cause Ford is not the only company using these Continuously Variable Transmissions, Fiat, Mercedes, Audi, Lancia, Mini, Nissan, Subaru used them as well - and probably all made by the same German manufacturer ZF.

 

@SmartMarc: Kann es sein, dass Du den Thread nicht ganz gelesen hast Der Fragesteller ist mit seinem Fiesta in der Türkei, dort gibt es schlicht keine Werkstatt die sich mit CTX-Getrieben auskennt, er hat den Wagen dorthin exportiert. So, nun ist das Getriebe defekt, er braucht Ersatz. Seine Geldmittel sind knapp, also sucht er ein Tauschgetriebe. Es muss wieder ein CTX sein weil a) ein Umbau auf Schalter sehr aufwändig ist, b) er selber es nicht kann, c) es auch keine türkische Werkstatt kann, und d) er vermutlich auf einen Automaten angewiesen ist (wie es aussieht schwerbehindert). Das einzige was sich seine Werkstätten zutrauen ist, ein komplettes CTX zu tauschen.

Eine Reparatur des CTX macht auch hierzulande fast niemand, weil es so selten und relativ komplex ist. Elektronik hat es keine, es arbeitet völlig mechanisch (nur Last-abhängig). Wenn, dann ist es also mechanisch defekt. Also macht nur ein Austauschgetriebe Sinn.

well, I think, the best solution in your case is to look for a used Fiesta Automatic in production time 1996 to 2000 over here in Germany. Maybe you or your friends over here can find one out of an car accident, that's much cheeper. The only thing you need is the gearbox. Your friends could get it out of the wreck and ship it to you. The only thing you might need is patience, a good opportunity is not easy to find.

By the way: I know about some Fiestas Automatic with well over 130.00 km. That's no problem. Automatic gearboxes are special parts, you never now before, how long they last. But often, they work well until the car "dies" on other reasons. My wife has one with 120.000 km and absolutely no problems with the gearbox.

Sorry MucCowboy, but you are interpreting things into this thread the author never wrote:
He only said that his Ford Dealer doesn't know how to help him, there was no information about other workshops.
A CTV does have electronic components (for example for the Economy, Sport Setting, Manual, Reverse), it's a common failure on the CTV used by Mini.

 

Hey we take out the transmission, and it s in my garage now... tomorrow I will send to Istanbul what I find a workshop specialised on transmissions (www.avniusta.com) And I taked the number which on the transmission... (96CT AJ 5M14) Probably I ll take an used transmission from deutchland... It may be an alternative solution or extra part in my garage... Now I have to find a transmission what without problem, cheap, and surely for my fiesta... ok ok I will write tomorrow about my position, and your command... with photos

p.s : my car at 130.000 but I just full revized the engine and some parts before this problem... now the car has just one problem... it s gearbox.. I hope it will be remove...

Schau mal den allerersten Beitrag an:

...also nicht CTV sondern das stufenlose CTX. Und dieses Getriebe hat überhaupt keine elektronische Steuerung. Ich habe das gleiche Fahrzeug des Threadstarters hier vor der Tür stehen und kann es besten Gewissens bestätigen. "Sport", "Economy", "Overdrive" usw. gibt's auch nicht. Vor- und Rückwärtsgang werden mechanisch eingelegt, Schaltpunkte gibt es dank stufenloser Verstellung keine. Anstelle der Wählpositionen "2" und "1" gibt es "L", der nur das Verschieben der Übersetzungskette etwas verzögert und den Motor höher drehen lässt.
